Milestone HULW # 1 ... "Have you lost weight?"

This important milestone kind of snuck up on me. I have been running and eating healthy for a while, but I really do not see any substantial change in my body. (I also do not have a full length mirror in my house which might be part of the reason too.)

Every time I have lost weight and gotten into shape, there always seems to be a milestone where you run into someone, who maybe has not seen you in a while, and they ask "Have you lost weight?". Let's mark this down as milestone "HULW#1" !

Here's how it happened...
At the Toastmasters Convention last week, one of my dear friends commented "Have you lost weight?". They became even "dearer" thanks to the HULW question... is "dearer" is a word?

My (honest) reply at the time was "I do not think so but thank you for the compliment."

Hmmm.....
The comment got me wondering if I had lost weight... so this morning I weighed myself and ... yes, I have lost a little weight. Not a significant percentage (1%?), but at least it is enough so that I can weigh myself on my home scale and not the truck scale at the recycling facility. ;)

The Boost of Achievement:
It is amazing how this little achievement can boost my motivation and determination. Before I stepped on the scale, all my diet and exercise plans were "in theory"... now that my body is changing, they are "in practice".
"You achieve big visions by doing the little things every day and looking at them in a positive focus. "The closer you get to your goal, the more it draws you in; success feeds on success." - Shawn Phillips

Hitting this [relatively minor] milestone has inspired me to make my plans more concrete and more ambitious. A little step forward allows me to believe that I can create a new direction !

How about you? What does your future hold?
